Our experience: Don Juan - Coffee and Chocolate Tour, will take you to know the entire Coffee process, from the seed to the delicious cup of coffee. Once the coffee tour is finished, we will start with the sweetest part of the tour, the delicious chocolate. Like coffee, we will talk about the entire Chocolate process, from the seed to the delicious chocolate bar and we will end up selecting some members of the group to grind the cacao beans and make their own chocolate bar. Once finished you will have the opportunity to taste several types of chocolate such as Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate and White Chocolate. One of our main features is the infrastructure we have, since the Arenal Area is well known for having a very changing climate, it goes from being very sunny and humid to heavy rains, even with a electric storms on some occasions, that is why that 100% of our trails are protected and made of cement, which will allow to enjoy the tour on sunny or rainy days. During the tour we will be driving atvs around beaches, mountains and towns, also we will be visiting viewpoints in the top of the hills to get beautiful pictures, the tour starts at playa Brasilto where you are going to get clear instruction of how to operate the atvs, also you will get all the safetly equipment, after this we will start driving north from Brasilito, diving along the coast line, going around playa Brasilto, playa flamingo and playa Potrero, after this we will visit the top of the hills and enjoy at the viewpoint, from here you will be able to see the best ocean view, all along the way we will be looking for Howler monkeys, after this we will return to playa Brasilto and finish the tour. Other things to note Bring beach clothes, we will stop at beach and is optional if you want to swim on the ocean, sunscreen is very important and don’t forget your camera

After booking our experiences, you will arrive at our kitchen where you will be very welcome and where you will share a good time with an authentic Costa Rican family. After introducing ourselves and getting to know each other over a refreshing drink, we will take you on a tour of our organic garden, where you will learn about the different crops and aromatic plants, followed by picking some of the ingredients that we will use for the preparation of our dish. When we return to the kitchen we will prepare a refreshing mojito to proceed to prepare a typical dish with fresh ingredients, produced by us and our neighbors. At the end of the preparation of the dish, we will consume everything prepared in a family atmosphere. If you come with more time than agreed there is a good chance to observe some animals such as frogs, birds and sloth that live in our garden.

This is not a commercial coffee tour, it is an educational experience to create awareness in the only organic specialty coffee plantation in the Monteverde area, located in the Ecological Sanctuary, a 48 hectares family project focused on conservation, sustainability, agroecology, education and culture. In a guided workshop by an expert where you will learn from the basics of ancestral agriculture, how we create our own organic fertilizers, then you will know the coffee gardens planted in the forest that surrounds the Ecological Sanctuary, the drying area, and the process that involves the specialty coffee (history, plantations, growth, development, varieties and the science of flavor to prepare a good coffee). After leaving the forest, we will enjoy a guided coffee tasting, sharpening the senses to recognize defects, attributes, aromas and flavors in different qualities of coffee. Finally, we will create an interactive demonstration of the science of flavor and all the variables that an alchemist applies in the preparation of a coffee using different infusion methods. This workshop is an experience that will expand your knowledge of the world of coffee and help you become a home barista and an informed consumer. Welcome to my home! First I will explain you how the Costa Rican diet has impacted the longevity and health of locals. Then you will learn why I chose the specific ingredients for the 6 traditional dishes that we will cook: - Empanadas - Arroz con Pollo (perfumed rice with chicken) - Gallo Pinto (traditional rice and beans) - Tortillas con Queso (handmade tortillas with local cheese) - Picadillo de Papa (potatoes in chunks with ground beef) - Fried Yuca I will demonstrate, oversee and guide the class so that you are the one who is cooking. My goal is that you can replicate the recipes when you return back home. One of the highlights that guests love the most is that you will keep plenty of yummy leftovers, so your experience remains for the following day. I recommend you booking days before departing CR. These recipes have been transmitted generation after generation. I learned them from my mother and they will be handed to you. I will explain to you on what occasions we normally cook them, what are the secrets for the best taste and stories behind these dishes. Making tortillas and empanadas are perfect activities for children, they love playing with corn dough, I do that with my little grandson Samuel when he visits me. We can do the surprise in two different ways: a) we can all meet as we were going to do a typical couple shooting at the beach and suddenly in a prearrange beauty spot you propose to your partner and I will be ready to have that memory in a lot pictures for you two :) b)we can arrange a beauty spot that you two will be walking through and I would be hiding between a few trees looking at you, when suddenly you propose to your partner I would be taking a lot of pictures for you to have that lovely memories together. After that moment we can do a few more pics together and wiht the rings in one of the most magical sunsets in pacific side and in a beautiful jungle secret path. Finally you will have the memories of the most lovely proposal at the beach and 40 digital professional pictures edited in high resolution and all the pictures that we took for you too (you choose the 40 one you want me to edit).

Our day starts by meeting at our office located 20 min away from Liberia downtown through the small villages of Colorado and Curubande. We count with two parking lots at our location in Curubande where you can leave your car safe while we do the hike. From Curubande we will take a 4WD for 1 km that will take us to the entrance of the waterfall trail and here is where the hike begins. The waterfall is well hidden away on the outskirts of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano . The trail is 1.3 Miles (2 Kilometers) singletrack so together it is 4 km. There are some climbing to do in elevation and some caves to go across. Later to reach the waterfall we have to swim 25 meters through a beautiful turquoise river canyon. This is a local experience that takes place where the Blanco and the Colorado rivers cross through, forming canyons and beautiful scenery which is why the water in their pools have that special turquoise tint.

The tour starts around at 7:30am with the the hanging bridges. You will hike on a 1.9 mile (3.1 km) trail on while enjoying the rain forest's flora and fauna. The trail crosses nine fixed bridges and six suspension bridges and is laid out at a maximum grade of seven degrees so that anyone can walk it. Our next stop is the La Fortuna Waterfall. From the trail head you will hike approximately 15 minutes before reaching this majestic waterfall where you can swim or just enjoy it’s beauty. After we wil take the lunch. Action starts again around at 3pm before heading to the volcano hike.You will enjoy a wide variety of plants and wildlife. At the end of the hike you will watch the sunset. You’ll end the day with a relaxing hot springs place. Other things to note Not recommended for participants with heart complaints or other serious medical conditions. We start the tour @ our office, located 50 mts. before the Park entrance (behind the restaurant "DONDE ALEX"). The tour takes from 2 to 3 hours walking (slowly) along the main trails of the Park and one of the white-sand beaches. While touring the main trails, you'll be able to observe numerous species of flora and fauna using Swarovski spotting scopes (the best in its class). As a specialized bilingual tour guide, I'll share my knowledge about the ecosystem for you to learn and enjoy the natural, historical, and cultural environment of this astonishing protected area (I call it environmental interpretation tour), more than just a walk in the Forrest Included in the journey, you will have 1 hour for recreation on the beach #3, considered the best in Costa Rica, don't forget your swimsuit and sunblock. Just before coming to the beach, I'll offer some snacks, fruit, water, or soda, which are included in the price, this takes place at the Park cafe. Join me in exploring the cloud forest from a different perspective, a night walk is a unique and unforgettable experience. Costa Rica is a small country in Central America that is home to around 5% of the world's biodiversity. Most animals in Costa Rica are nocturnal. If you like mammals such as sloths, armadillos, active birds such as owls, amphibians, reptiles, and many insects, then this is the opportunity to carry out an outdoor activity and learn more about the nocturnal behavior of many species of flora and fauna. It is an easily accessible route of around 2 kilometers, the ‘jewels’ of the cloud forest shine brighter at night. With luck, we will even be able to observe the famous bioluminescent mushrooms. the place where I do the night walk is very close to the center of Monteverde Santa Elena, it takes only 5 minutes by car. Let's wait for you to observe how the cloud forest comes to life at night.

Starting our day at the entrance of the national reserve at Manzanillo you'll start the hike on the exotic trail full of wildlife, plants and incredible landscape. Going up and down the jungle to several different private remote beaches and viewpoints. Hike for around 3 hours before reaching the remote beach of Punta Mona. A beach definitely off the beaten path and for some the most beautiful beach in the country. An island in the distance and a big reef that protects the beach from the waves. You can go for a swim and enjoy this magical Caribbean spot. After enjoying the beach we should have a snack before we continue hiking straight through the jungle back to where we started. On this experience you'll learn a lot about the jungle culture and history.
