Be a Beekeeper for a Day
Come experience the wonderful world of the honeybee where we encourage you to take pictures. We begin our 1 1/2 hour experience near Tampa, Florida. I have several different locations to choose from ranging from Farm to urban areas. The address showing will not be the place that you will have your experience. After you book I will send out the location. It will be either Lutz, Odessa, or S. Saint Petersburg. If you book first, I can be flexible as to location. We will begin with a demonstration of the equipment used in beekeeping as well as dressing up in our full bee suits and then immediately start the hands-on experience. At this point you will be able to see, feel, hear and touch apis mellifera (the European honey bee!) as I guide you to a better understanding of these amazing creatures. During our time together you will manipulate equipment, ask questions and get a practical appreciation of the bees. After, you will enjoy a refreshment while we discuss your recent experiences. Upon completion, we provide a 5 oz honey jar and honey dipper to say thank you for being a beekeper for a day! Things to note: PLEASE BRING BOOTS or Tennis shoes. There is always a chance of getting stung, So if you are allergic to bees please choose a different experience. We want you to come away feeling alive and in tune with the natural world. You will be wearing a full bee suit.
Honey Bees Up Close - Bee A Keeper
Note: we will resume in the fall = Cooler Temps. Enjoy your summer. Your 1.5+ hour interactive nature experience with the bees begins with a multimedia overview of the life of a bee. You’ll see a hive and learn how to hold a frame (without squishing the bees -they don’t like that). We’ll get suited up. Light a smoker. Do a safety check, and approach the hive. At the hive you’ll see and feel the power of propolis (a supplement for humans as well) -- its the glue bees use to seal up the hive. We’ll lift the lid and go inside. For some, that’s might be as far as they want to go. But, if you’re adventurous, we will do a complete hive inspection: Pull frames to see how the bees create honey and keep the colony alive. You’ll see open “wet cells” of nectar that are still in the process of transforming into honey. You’ll see capped honey, tiny freshly laid eggs and all the stages of bee development ( larvae, caped brood, and newly emerging “baby bees”). I’ll show you how beekeepers help control pests (other insects and diseases) and keep the bees healthy so they can do their important work. You’ll hold frames of bees and feel the weight of a full frame of honey when compared to a frame of bees. There’s always time for selfies. You’ll sample honey & enjoy a cold beverage sweetened with honey. This is Ecco tourism with some of mother nature’s most important workers.

Beach Yoga
ABOUT CLASS: Through breathing and gentle beginner-appropriate yoga postures, we open ourselves up to enjoy the ocean air and the blue sky, close with a 5 minute rest. Length: 1 hour. QUESTION: What type of yoga is it? How is it different than the classes I've been to? ANSWER: More standing and balancing postures than some indoor yoga classes because we want to experience the view and breathe the ocean air deeply. That said, this class is doable and accessible for all bodies and levels of yogis. If you are unable to get up and down off the floor easily, you are welcome to use the built-in bench seating to take all postures from a seated position. Railings surrounding the space can be used for support. Our platform is 100% wheelchair accessible and there are several handicapped parking spaces within 150 yards of the site. Mats, sunscreen and limited yoga props are provided. A beach towel will work just as well as a yoga mat in this space. We do have a few mats to lend as well. Bring home a lasting souvenir experience and take a photo or two afterward. Please wear stretchy clothing that will not fall up or down during yoga practice. "Yoga specific" clothing is not necessary. Please no swimsuits. You will want to remove your shoes and socks. Face masks are welcome but not required. Class size typically allows for 6+ feet between mats. PLEASE REVIEW PARKING INSTRUCTIONS, below.

Weeki Wachee River Clear Kayak Ecotour
Let's go on a clear kayak ecotour adventure on the Weeki Wachee River- one of the most scenic waterways in Florida! We start in the quiet estuary of the Mud and Weeki Wachee Rivers, or where they meet the Gulf of Mexico. The first half of the paddle will take us through a salt marsh before we start kayaking up the Weeki Wachee River (a workout, but don't worry we take breaks) and the second half will be an easier trip back to our launch at Mary's Fish Camp. Be ready for lots of great local nature and wildlife such as manatees, dolphins, birds, turtles and fish while kayaking past iconic places on the river such as Rogers Park, a public swim area, and Hospital Hole- the river has so many places! Expect an adventure that is part wild and part urban as the river is a popular one to enjoy living and recreating on. We spend the first 20 minutes taking care of the basics, signing waivers, kayaking lesson and information about the tour ahead. We spend 2 hours on the water depending on the speed of our group and any wildlife we may see along the way! This is a no exit tour to preserve the Weeki Wachee for generations to come. We spend the duration of our tour in our kayaks. Please note that weekends and holidays can be a popular time for recreation on the river! All of our kayaks are tandem kayaks unless otherwise arranged. No guest can be over 250lbs or a combined weight of 425.
