Multnomah Zen, a four waterfall scenic hiking experience
Multnomah Falls and other waterfalls and vistas of the Columbia Gorge are astonishing icons of geology, the sort that have inspired mythology and lore of warriors, gods and passions. We will drive out in our vans to meet the tallest waterfall in the state, and then drive to a few of the shorter but even more stunning ones, too; falls which could only be the daughters and sons of legend. In this half-day experience, we will explore wonders with some short hikes (totaling less than 2.5 miles/4 km) and visits to overlooks and vistas that will have you gasping in awe. While Multnomah Falls and its iconic Benson Bridge are together the most-visited tourist attraction in the Portland area, they are only a part of our experience. We will meet at our shop in inner SE Portland, where we'll ride in our comfortable Sprinter and Transit vans to the nearby gorge. Depending on weather conditions, we will visit a few small hidden waterfalls and spectacular plunge-style falls whose columnar basalt has us learning words for "amazing" in other languages. We'll also tell you stories, geology, botany and oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and wild spirits and about the oldest North American civilization, forever altered by “manifest destiny." Please note we book directly as well as through AirBNB, and your group may be up to 10.

Chef Tour of Pike Place Market
We will take you on a culinary tasting adventure of Pike Place Market. We will be stopping at 9 different artisanal vendors; learning about local production and tasting your way through the flavors of the Northwest. Other things to note: The tour takes place rain or shine. Please email if you have dietary restrictions. Not all of our routes stop at the same places in Pike Place! We do book private tours for 9-16 people. Please direct message us to learn more. Gratuity is not included in the price. Our team also conducts a, more off the beaten path, tour on Fridays and Saturdays of South Lake Union. There are small bites over many stops and limited places to sit down. This experience requires a medium physical fitness level due to hills, stairs and uneven terrain. We do cover some distance and the market is crowded during the Summer. If you have to drive and park please leave a lot of extra time in the high season. The lots do fill up. Lastly, due to our tight schedule and wanting to show you as much of the market during a short time, we don't have time to shop during the tour. We encourage you to come back after the tour with your discount card to make purchases.

Other things to note: One glass of wine is included at the first vineyard. Wine, cider, and beer are available at your expense at the second vineyard.

Kinship Trail Rides
The first thing that we will address is the safety precautions of being around the horses. We will then introduce the rider to the horse they will be riding. Our wrangler will assist each person to get on the horse. The riders will get accustomed to the horses in the arena while under the supervision of the wrangler. The wrangler will go over some of the basics on how to navigate the animal. As soon as everyone is comfortable with their horse we will then head out onto the 60 acres. The KTR Ranch has a large pond that we ride along side of. The wildlife that our guests can expect to see is; Canadian Geese, Grey Herrings, Red Tailed Hawks, and the Great Horned Owl! All of these beautiful animals come to visit and or reside out at the Ranch. While we encounter the wildlife, we will pass through an old Willow tree and cross over logs along the path. We will then stop and take some group photos! We then will head back to the arena and one by one get off the horses. Once everyone is safely off of the horses, we will feed them carrots and apples. The guests can then take photos with their newfound 4-legged friends! The duration of this ride will take about 1 hour, so come and join us for a one of a kind horseback ride. If you are an experienced rider with 10+ hours and want more of a challenge, ask KTR about their trail riding. (The trail riding is not offered on Airbnb)

We begin our journey on the world renown Baden Powell Trail, as we follow its winding path through a forest of towering trees Lynn Creek appears alongside us. This trail will deliver us to the Suspension Bridge giving us the chance to gaze into the canyon below taking in the impressive waterfalls from a bird's eye view. The east side of the creek sits above the canyon in a more mature forest and delivers us to Twin Falls a smaller double waterfall. After a short climb, we return to the Suspension Bridge on route to a river beach to brew a little Cedar tea and nibble on candied salmon. Our journey is approximately 5km in length and includes short steep sections with well made wooden steps. Mid-Day and Sunset Sails on Seattle's Majestic Puget Sound
There is a sense of magic in setting your sails, allowing the wind to carry you across water. I will gently encourage everyone to take a turn steering the boat, to feel the uniting force of wind and water. After all these years, I still find it enchanting. We will leave the dock at Shilshole Bay Marina, motor out past the city’s famed Golden Gardens Park, watch for sea lions loafing on the Meadow Point buoy, and then set sail, heading West across Puget Sound toward the magnificent Olympic Mountains. Along the way we will watch for orcas, schools of Dahl’s porpoises, sea lions, harbor seals, jumping salmon, bald eagles, great blue herons, cormorants, diving gulls, and other wildlife. On the Sunset Cruise we will keep a careful watch as the sun sets behind the Olympic Mountains, for the resulting lightshow is something you will want to capture on camera. As the sun drops behind the well-named Mount Olympus and other peaks in the range, it often illuminates the feathery horizon clouds into glorious colors. Join the Fun: Please don’t be shy about joining a cruise that already shows guests booked. It is always special when guests from different cities, states … and countries … come together to share this inspiring experience. Whichever voyage you choose -- Morning, Afternoon, or Sunset -- it is always magical to fill the sails on the beautiful waters of Puget Sound.
