PLEASE NOTE THAT THE AIRBNB TERMS OF SERVICE, PAYMENT TERMS OF SERVICE, PRIVACY POLICY AND OTHER TERMS THAT APPLY TO THE USE OF THE AIRBNB PLATFORM (COLLECTIVELY, “AIRBNB TERMS”) AGREED TO BY YOU APPLY TO YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE AIRBNB GUEST REFERRAL PROGRAM AND YOUR USE OF THE GUEST REFERRAL PROGRAM TOOLS AND DASHBOARD (COLLECTIVELY, “DASHBOARD”) AND OTHER TOOLS AND WEBSITES PROVIDED BY AIRBNB. THESE PROGRAM TERMS AND CONDITIONS (“GUEST REFERRAL TERMS”) SUPPLEMENT THE AIRBNB TERMS. PLEASE REVIEW THESE GUEST REFERRAL TERMS AND THE AIRBNB TERMS BEFORE AGREEING TO THESE GUEST REFERRAL TERMS. CAPITALIZED TERMS USED IN THESE GUEST REFERRAL TERMS AND NOT DEFINED HAVE THE MEANINGS GIVEN TO THEM IN THE AIRBNB TERMS.

The Airbnb Guest Referral Program allows eligible Members (“Referrers”) to invite their eligible friends and family (“Referred Users”) via an invitation link to explore and use Airbnb. Referred Users who complete registration through this link obtain an Airbnb coupon for their first booking. If the Referred User makes a Qualifying Booking and Completes (each as defined below) the trip (a “Successful Referral”), the Referrer will receive Airbnb travel credits in the amount specified in the Dashboard (“Referral Rewards”). To “Complete” a Qualifying Booking, the Referred User’s booking must be accepted by a Host and paid for by the Referred User, and the Referred User must complete the entire stay without the booking being canceled at any time. The Referral Rewards will be automatically sent to the Referrer's account typically within ten days after the eligible trip is Completed, and can be viewed through “Profile > Payments & Payouts > Credits & Coupons.”

Currently, this program is only open to users with a country of residence or establishment in mainland China, Japan, Italy, and Mexico.

To qualify for Referral Rewards, Referrers must meet all of the following conditions and comply with the below Referral Rewards Usage Rules:

Have completed at least one booking on Airbnb;
Have completed Airbnb’s identity verification process;
Must be a user with a country of residence or establishment in mainland China, Japan, Italy, or Mexico; and
Have no records of fraud or other misconduct on Airbnb.

Invitation Rules:

Referrers are only eligible to receive Referral Rewards for up to 10 Successful Referrals per calendar year (January 1 through December 31). If the Successful Referral limit is exceeded, Referred Users can still be invited to register and receive a coupon, but the Referrer will not receive Referral Rewards.
The invitation link is valid for 72 hours after it is generated. If it is not used within that time period, the link will expire, meaning the Referred User cannot access the link and the Referrer would need to send a new invitation.

Each Referred User must be the age of majority in their country of residence or establishment and meet all of the following conditions:

Must not currently have an Airbnb account;
Must register for a new Airbnb account through the invitation link shared by the Referrer;
Must be a user with a country of residence or establishment in mainland China, Japan, Italy, or Mexico; and
Must not be the same user as the Referrer, and have no records of fraud or other misconduct on Airbnb.

Qualifying Bookings must meet all of the following conditions:

The total amount of the booking (including cleaning fees but excluding service fees, taxes, booking add-ons such as travel insurance and assistance services, and other charges) must meet or exceed the minimum booking amount required in the Referred User's country/region under this program, as specified in the Dashboard;
The booking must be made within 180 days after the Referred User registers for an Airbnb account using the Referrer's invitation link;
The Host of the booked listing cannot be the Referrer.

Referred User Coupon:

The Referred User will obtain an Airbnb Coupon for their first booking after registering for an Airbnb account via the Referrer’s invitation link. The coupon is subject to the Airbnb Coupon Terms.
The Referred User can go to “Profile > Payments & Payouts > Credits & Coupons" to view the coupon details, including amount and usage rules. The amount of the coupon will depend on the total amount of the booking.

Referral Rewards Usage Rules for the Guest Referral Program:

Validity, Stacking, and Usage Limits

Referral Rewards obtained by the Referrer through the Guest Referral Program are travel credits that are valid for 1 year from the date of issuance and can be used for future stay or Experience bookings by the Referrer. The travel credits are subject to the Credit Terms and Conditions.

Referral Rewards may automatically offset the cost of stay or Experience bookings on Airbnb, can be stacked with multiple Referral Rewards, and have no minimum booking amount required for their use. Referral Rewards may not be used with or to purchase Gift Cards.

Referral Rewards can be used in conjunction with coupons and other discounts (listing discounts, host coupons, etc.), but may not be used with Airbnb Coupons from the Guest Referral Program. The default application order is coupons, other discounts, then travel credits.

On the booking payment page, the Referrer can manually remove automatically applied discounts and choose a different discount.

The maximum amount of Referral Rewards used in each booking cannot exceed 15% of the total payment amount of the booking. The actual deductible limit of travel credits from Referral Rewards may fluctuate based on real-time currency exchange rates.

Methods of Use, Return, and Inquiry

Referral Rewards are for the personal use of the Referrer only and cannot be reloaded, resold, transferred for value or redeemed for cash, or used in any form of transaction or use other than deducting the cost of the Referrer's stay or Experience bookings.

When the Referrer cancels or changes a booking that used Referral Rewards, the system will first return the Referral Rewards to the Referrer, then refund the rest of the payment to the payment method used for the booking.

Depending on the cancellation policy applicable to the booking, the Referral Rewards used may not be refundable or only partially refundable.

Referrers can view the usage details of Referral Rewards on Airbnb by going to "Profile > Payments & Payouts > Credits & Coupons" to understand the amount and expiration records of Referral Rewards.

Other Notes on Using Referral Rewards

If the Referrer believes there is an error in the balance of Referral Rewards for any reason, please contact us. Airbnb may require the Referrer to submit relevant proof to confirm the balance of Referral Rewards.

Tax liabilities (if any) arising from receiving or using the Referral Rewards are the sole responsibility of the Referrer. Tax liabilities (if any) arising from receiving or using an Airbnb coupon are the sole responsibility of the Referred User. Where applicable, Airbnb may collect taxes on services redeemed using Referral Rewards and/or Airbnb coupons.

Additional Terms and Conditions of the Guest Referral Program:

Use of Dashboard

Referrers agree that they will not use the Dashboard for any purpose other than tracking their own progress and the progress of their Referred Users. Referrers will respect the privacy of others and comply with applicable laws.

Sharing Referral Links

Referrals should only be used for personal and non-commercial purposes, and only shared with personal connections that will appreciate receiving these invitations. Referral links should not be distributed where there is no reasonable basis for believing that all or most of the recipients are personal friends or family (in particular, referral links may not be published on coupon websites, Reddit, Wikipedia, or similar sites).

Referrers agree and represent that they will use referral methods and techniques that people will appreciate and that are legal. Referrers should only contact people who have given the Referrer their consent to be contacted. Referrers agree and represent that they will always be mindful to respect the privacy of others (i.e., do not spam), be honest, open, and transparent about who the Referrer is and what the Referrer is offering (i.e., do not mislead).

Referrers agree that they will not set up accounts or book on behalf of Referred Users and that they will not be eligible for payments if they are in breach of these Guest Referral Terms.

Severability:

If any provision of these Guest Referral Terms is deemed invalid, void, or unenforceable, then that provision (or the part of it that makes it invalid, void, or unenforceable) will be disregarded, without affecting the validity and enforceability of the remaining terms.

Termination and Changes:

Airbnb may at any time, for any reason, suspend or terminate the Guest Referral Program without prior notice. Referral Rewards and coupons already issued at the time of suspension or termination of the Guest Referral Program may still be used in accordance with these Guest Referral Terms.

Airbnb reserves the right to change the content and mechanics of the Guest Referral Program at any time, including but not limited to the use of Referral Rewards, without prior notice. Referral Rewards and coupons already issued at the time of such a change remain unaffected and may still be used in accordance with these Guest Referral Terms.

Airbnb reserves the right to update the Guest Referral Terms at any time without prior notice. Should the Guest Referral Terms be revised, we will publish the revisions on the Airbnb website, application, or other service channels; such revisions will become effective immediately upon publication. The updated Guest Referral Terms only apply to future usage of the program and will be brought to the attention of the user. For past usage (e.g., Referral Rewards or coupons already issued), the then-applicable version of the Guest Referral Terms continues to apply.

Older versions of the Airbnb mobile app may not support participation in this program. Please update to the latest version.
