Tour the valley with The Wine Gypsy
We will head out for the more remote parts of the valley. Up on mountains and down the back roads to places that you might never find on your own. I choose wineries with character, whether it’s the people or the place. Something unique and special that makes you think “This is cool!” What you imagine when you picture a Napa Valley wine tasting experience. Properties that you are reluctant to leave because the wine is so good and the people so friendly you could sit there all day. Eat your picnic lunch on a hillside overlooking the valley. Winter months we might eat inside the winery, or do a tasting beside a roaring fire while we watch the rain fall. Sit and converse with the winemaker in their homes. Tour a property in an ATV. Hit golf balls out into a lake surrounded by vineyards. Please note** Tasting fees are not included in the price. Wineries will comp fees with a wine purchase. If you are traveling where purchasing wine is not an option, you may opt to pay the tasting fees. Please note there may be another party on the tour with you. We spend a full day together because there is so much to see. I will pick you up either at the meet spot or at your local Napa Valley lodgings. Pickups outside of Napa Valley are possible for an additional charge. Other things to note Cellar tasting rooms can be a bit chilly. We will be climbing some stairs, and navigating some gravel pathways. Water and sparkling water will be provided. * Ask me about special flat rate pricing for private groups over 4
Private Pottery Wheel Lesson
After being introduced to the space and to each other, I will provide a quick demonstration on the wheel with a small amount of clay. Afterwards, each guest will be allowed time to create a piece on the wheel from beginning to end with personal instruction and assistance from me. Guests are welcome to make anything they would like to on the wheel! Cup, bowl, vase, dish, etc. (Please Read)The firing of pottery is a long process that is separate from the time we spend on the wheel. Each piece requires a two day long firing process in a kiln, and I hand glaze each piece. I offer kiln services out of my personal studio if you have interest in having your piece fired for a *small fee that is not due the day of the experience.* I do not include this in the price of the experience because some guests do not wish to keep their piece. Wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting some clay on. Clay will wash out, but you may not want to go out right after. The time noted on the experience, 2 hours, is generally descriptive of a 2 person experience which encompasses the majority of my bookings. In general, the experience is 1 hour per person. If there are 3 or 4 people in the booking, likely the experience will extend the 2 hour session time, and if there is 1 person in the booking it will be closer to an hour.
